On 7 June 1578, the Virgin appeared for the first time a shepherd who, in the sheep, was attracted by a sweet melody from a slope called Serra Campanaro. He saw a stately lady who, from the top of an oak, he said, "Go son, the mayor and the priest, and tells them what you saw. Our Lady of Visora is venerated with the title of "Madonna della Quercia".
