The Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá, is the Catholic church 's busiest state Zulia in Venezuela , located in the center of the city of Maracaibo . A building dedicated to the Virgin of Chiquinquirá , patron of Zulia state. The basilica has three aisles and two towers, a high altar, a presbytery and numerous niches dedicated to various saints.

History

Tradition relates that, on the shores of Lake Maracaibo appeared planchette found an elderly woman named Eleida Araujo, who took her to his house. What to See

The fair begins with the lighting on the Avenue Bella Vista in Maracaibo. The Feria de La Chinita is the name of a festival of religious origin which takes place every year for three days, from 17 until November 19 in the city Venezuela in Maracaibo and spreads to other parts of Zulia state . In this celebration commemorates the miracle of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá , who is the patron of Zulia State and whose celebration is observed by the Holy Catholic Church every November 18 .

Then, he began to be celebrated annually onset, and the party acquired the name La Chinita Fair, along which is common in external execution of the Basilica of bagpipes Zulia , a musical genre indigenous to Zulia, in whose lyrics usually expressed devotion and pays homage to the Virgin.
