Campitello is a small town located 42 km from Bastia. This village had fifty families in 1880 and consisted of three hamlets: Bagnolo, Progliolo, Panicale. It is in this last that the Virgin Mary was manifested.
Hélène Parsi was born November 29, 1884. His father, righteous and devout man named Francis. His mother, born Françoise Lorenzi and native Pietralba was also a very pious woman. They raised a family of eight children, in the confidence of God's goodness because housekeeping was poor. Among these children was Madeleine Lelléna said she was baptized December 14, 1884 and made her first communion August 15, 1897.
