It was built in the fourteenth century by the nuns of the Poor Clares , who lived in the adjacent monastery of Santa Maria degli Angeli . The church houses the image of Our Lady of Mercy, painted by Giuseppe Soleri ( 1.75 thousand - 1 806 ), who had made a gift to his sister, Sister Clare, who in turn donated it to the church. Was exposed July 17 1810 on the main altar in the church of Santa Chiara, whose care was entrusted in 1824 to the Missionaries of the Precious Blood .
