After the religious part will enliven the evening the orchestra Solar live tour and at the end of the fireworks artifice.
The origins of the cult of Our Lady of Constantinople
In this atmosphere of celebration and anticipation of the Community of Senise, the Siritide.it, interpreting the thought of many devotees, wanted to know the origin of this devotion to a Byzantine icon, consulting with the parish priest, Father Pino Marino :. "The devotion to Our Lady of Costantinopoli- explains Don-Pino was born in Senise, as in other neighboring communities of Noepoli, St. Paul Albanian, Cersosimo, S. Costantino Albanian carried by the Basilian monks who had in reality these different lands and settlements of monasteries . The Basilian, although Catholics, play the Byzantine rite spreading this devotion that goes back centuries as the history of Our Lady of Constantinople. "
"A Senise - Don Pino continues - there was a very ancient; a painting on canvas that in circumstances still unclear, you do not even know at the time, was destroyed by fire. This event was experienced by the population as an extraordinary, miraculous (though we can not speak of a miracle).Of this ancient icon was saved only the face of the Madonna and the Child Jesus and it was this icon that has been revered in these more recent times surrounded these faces, miraculously escaped the fire, a red velvet that covered almost the entire part destroyed and burned. On an old print found in the archives of the parish in which you see the whole picture of the Madonna of Constantinople, in 1988, Fr Egidio Warrior priest of Senise Don Battista Di Santo and his assistant pastor, came up with the idea of rebuilding, with construction of a modern icon, (which was made in Rome by an artist) was reconstructed on the basis of this antique print from 1988 and the old icon is preserved in the sacristy of the Church of S. Francesco and the same year he worships this new icon .
Every year the feast is celebrated on May 31 at the end of the Marian month. We could say that is the Madonna di Senise, and this year that recur 25 years, from April 14, 1988 as this new icon was brought to bless in St. Peter's Square by Pope John Paul II, we wanted to celebrate with a solemnity, a greater emphasis and so this festival is an event that recalls the 25 years jubilee. " "On May 31, 1988 - Don Pine ends - for the first time became the procession with the icon and May 31 of this year, after 25 years, we celebrate this memory, this memory by putting the country posters depicting Pope John Paul II in 'act of blessing of the icon of Our Lady of Constantinople Senise. " This gesture does not want to be triumphalist branch of the Catholic presence in our country, but to affirm the kingship of Christ over all the history and all of humanity, and at the same time rely on the One who has hosted before in the faith and then in her belly the incarnate word.

Description
Description of the icon
In the framework of the Madonna of Constantinople is written in greek the Marian title "Mother of God"; the presence of three stars indicates the virginity of Mary before, during and after childbirth; the golden background the presence of God's joy, the red cloak, the fullness of the Holy Spirit that made Mary, Mother of God. Artistically, the image reveals the intimate union between Christ and Mary. In fact, a cult that does not have the center of the mystery of Jesus Christ does not make sense, Mary is the Mother of God because Jesus is true God and true man.

Coronation of Our Lady of Constantinople
After the blessing of the Community in Rome Senise paid tribute to Our Lady of Constantinople gesture coronation (24 August 1987) by placing a golden crown on the head of the Madonna and Child Jesus in the presence of Cardinal Giordano, Archbishop of Naples. The above crown was made with the fusion of gold objects that the faithful of Senise have gradually given as a sign of gratitude and devotion to Our Lady. All items are precious gifts entrusted to the anxieties, hopes, fears, above all, prayers and devotion that our community has wanted to pay tribute to Mary and her Son.
Never as in this time of crisis you feel the need to entrust their concerns to the Madonna of Constantinople, so that the fabric on which Christian and Marian was born our country has new vitality and enthusiasm to meet the challenges that the future will present.
